Why aren't we doing what other clubs are doing and opening the bar and showing the football and live sport. We can get rid of a few tables, add some social distancing stickers, use outside also and stick a TV out there. AND MAKE SOME MONEY.
According to a post on the conference forum by Trisimp we have a psf against Welling Town. Know doubt there are other friendlies in the pipeline that will also be behind closed doors. Lucky W.T also have a psf against Jersey. Nice little trip for their team and management.
Watcher folks, Just probing out there to see who would feel safe coming to an outdoor beer festival, and who would not? If there is a reasonable indication it would go well, and would be well-attended, I will obviously put it to the Club. Cheers for now.
Hi all as I have been out of touch for a while.... Can someone tell me if we have retained any of our players for next season please. Thank you and stay safe
BBC are reporting that: League 2 will relegate 1 team (due to the demise of Bury trickling down). That would currently be Stevenage, but there is a FA disciplinary hearing today which might deduct points from Macclesfield Town (due to non payment of wages - again) and send them down National League h...
This week I have had a few members of this forum ask about joining WUSA. Currently while the club shop is closed if anyone wants to join just send me a PM with your name, address, email and contact phone number. I will then get back to you with details of how to pay. Membership is Ł10 or Ł5 for juniors.
There are a few junior home and away replica tops left from last season. Until Saturday 6th June these are available at Ł18 each or 2 for Ł25 plus p+p at cost. I still have a few other items such as badges, coasters, scarves and beanies (yes I know its a heatwave) available. Anyone interested in anythin...
...and NO I am not phoning the club. Just was thinking whether Bexley Council had stopped charging rent during the pandemic....That would be pretty valuable and useful for us to have a team after all this is over
Under normal conditions we would have had an end of season sale. I am pleased to be able to offer some replica shirts from the past season at Ł18 each which is below cost, plus postage and packing at cost. Anyone interested should contact me via pm on this forum or call me on the old shop phone 07707883672 ...
As the season has finished - any news on what happens to the remaining games on a season ticket? I do not want to phone the club as they have other things to deal with at the moment. Personally i think the club could issue vouchers for the remaining games to be used next season. Any thoughts on this.
WUSA are still looking to hold a virtual presentation night in May. All fans are invited to submit nominations for their goal of the season. Hopefully we can then form a shortlist and arrange a way to show the goals and provide a facility for you all to vote on them. Please nominate in this thread by Frida...
Lets be honest it wasnt our best of late. Myself I think MG has done well at the club. Our club house once the butt of jokes is now very respectable thanks to MG. Hes a very decent fella but his manager days are over. Please God BQ is working on his squad now and we will be up and running as soon as the new season s...
WUSA hope to hold a virtual presentation evening via Zoom during May. Details will be put on here nearer the time however once up and running I am told Zoom is limited to 100 participating screens. All Welling United fans are invited to vote for their Player of the Season. Forum users who are not WUSA mem...
On The Road YouTube channel made the visit to PVR for the 3-2 win vs Hungerford. They're a channel that reviews stadium and matchdays. If you want 12 minutes of isolation to waste, here you are! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8BwvwKw2yo
Not strictly within the terms of this forum, however, we must have them within our fan base and certainly, as I do, amongst our relatives and friends. We are asked to give a round of applause at 8pm this evening, whether it be in the garden on the balcony or even in the street to members of NHS. I would encou...
I did inform WUSA members that the online shop will be closed for the duration. However I have brought a small supply of our items home today. These are the only items now show on the online shop page and in the unlikely event of them selling out I do not anticipate going back to PVR to re stock. Be assured sh...
Hope everyone is ok in these unbelievable times we find ourselves in. Hopefully if everyone is sensible and sticks to what the Government asks us to do we will soon be enjoying our football once again
This could end up being very very damaging if not fatal for many Non League clubs. If the season is totally wiped out will Welling United be able to get through it? What happens if the PSF with Charlton get binned etc? This is a complete Sh1t storm. -- Edited by Riverstown on Thursday 19th of March 2020 12:...
For once, I'm going to need to be a tad selfish. We've got no football, and we've got no social venues. If you are sitting at home at a loose end, the Belle is still open for off-licence (cans/bottles/gin/tonic/wine) to get rid of stock and we're also doing take-out beer. We've got clean milk cartons to g...
I regret for the safety of our manager, his team and you our fans WUSA have cancelled the meeting for 27th March. We will attempt to reschedule once the league starts again. In the meantime we send our best wishes to our fans, players and backroom staff and trust you are all safe and well.
